Exodus 24-27

Exodus 24-27

About the Reading:

Today we read about the instructions for building the Sanctuary and the Ark.  God is very specific in his instructions as to how to build these things.

My Thoughts and Notes:

As I read today’s reading, I was reminded of the specificity that God gave to Noah as he was building the Ark for the animals.

I am also reminded of our Church buildings.  There are similarities to the structures of our Church’s in the Eastern Orthodox religion to the instructions found here in Exodus.  I am working on collecting some pictures to be able to share with all of you.

  1. I too was reminded of God's instructions to Noah. God is very meticulous in His instructions regarding the building of the tabernacle. Later we will see that He is just as meticulous when it comes to what the priests wore, and again when the Temple was built. With that in mind, I often wonder why people these days are so lackluster about God's 'temple' (our bodies). I know that it is not the outwardly person that God sees and judges, but the inwardly. Yet still, shouldn't we give Him our VERY BEST all the time? I, personally, don't think it is too much to ask, considering what He has given for us.

  2. I agree with you, it is what's inside that is judged by God; but I do think that your outside appearance should reflect on your inside. How you present yourself really reflects on how you respect yourself, the body that God gave you!
