Leviticus 8-11

Leviticus 8-11

About the Reading:

We start the reading by learning the rules for the priests.

Then we learn about clean and unclean animals.

My Thoughts and Notes:

Wow!  I actually learned a lot about clean and unclean animals…does that mean that lobster is out?  And shrimp?  Please tell me the rules have changed…they have, haven’t they?

What did you think?

  1. 9 About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray. 10 He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. 11 He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. 12 It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles of the earth and birds of the air. 13 Then a voice told him, "Get up, Peter. Kill and eat."
14 "Surely not, Lord!" Peter replied. "I have never eaten anything impure or unclean."
15 The voice spoke to him a second time, "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean."
    Acts 10:9-15

11 What goes into a man's mouth does not make him 'unclean,' but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him 'unclean.'
    Matthew 15:11

Yes, Jenni, you might say the rules have changed. We are no longer under the law, we are under grace. (see Roman's 6) So enjoy your lobster, shrimp, and bacon!
    God Bless!

  2. PHEW! I knew the rules had changed, I just wasn't sure of the places in the Bible to refer to for it. Thank you!
