About the Reading:
We start off today with the 10 commandments. I don’t think there is a person alive, Christian or not, who isn’t at least familiar with these.
We also learn of the fear the people have of God saying that they will die should God speak to them directly.
God lays down the laws of murder, beatings, injury to others (physical or financial), and any offences.
My Thoughts and Notes:
Not because I am late in getting this post up, but really because I only have few words to say in this:
Does anyone else see our justice system, or it’s intention, in here?
Yes, Jenni, our system of justice is based on God's laws. Just don't tell those people who want to take God out of America that.
ReplyDeleteAbout today's reading. The Ten Commandments. These are not 10 suggestions.
When God started speaking, there was thunder and lightening and the sound of a trumpet coming off the mountain and the mountain was covered in smoke. Yeah, I'd be a little apprehensive, too.
Now you'd think that if God showed you that much power, you'd listen REAL close to what He has to say and make certain you obey completely. But. . .
It's when I am reminded of the 10 commandmants that I don't lose all hope in our country's justice system; those who want to completely take Him out of this country can NEVER be successful...because, as you and I know, this country was founded on God and His laws!
ReplyDeleteAlso, did you notice there is no mention of anyone crossing that line to the mountain? You are so right, they totally felt the fear of God!
